The number of people registering for employment last month stood at 5,894 compared to 7,644 in the same month last year, the National Statistics Office said.

It said that according to data provided by the Employment and Training Corporation decreases in registered unemployment were recorded among all age groups.

The largest decrease was among those who had been registering for employment for more than a year. The number of persons with a disability who were registering for work also decreased by 112 to 420. Males accounted for 80.5 per cent of total registrants with a disability.

The registered unemployed rate in November stood at 3.8 per cent of the labour supply, (excluding part-time employment), and varied from 4.5 per cent among men to 2.5 per cent among women.
