Two men were charged with stealing over €4,000 worth of items, including shot guns and jewellery, from a Qrendi house while the family were on summer vacation five years ago.

Saviour Gaffarena, 22, and Christian Parnis, 29, both from Mqabba, pleaded not guilty to burgling the house and the possession of stolen objects in August 2010.

Mr Parnis alone was charged with the possession of counterfeit money and relapsing.

Lawyers Franco Debono and Amadeus Cachia represented the accused while a Inspector Arthur Mercieca prosecuted.
