Two Sliema ASC waterpolo youth players, Mark Fenech and Nicholas Bugelli, have just ended their winter-long training experience in Hungary on a positive note, having helped OSC Budapest to finish second in the Hungarian Under-19 league.

With clubs only allowed to field one foreigner for any particular match, the Sliema boys had to alternate between them for a place in the squad throughout the competition.

Fenech was in the OSC team that beat Honved in the penultimate match of the season, while Bugelli was in the side that defeated UVSE in the final game.

Fenech and Bugelli will now continue to train with OSC’s first team until mid-May, before rejoining Sliema Frank Salt Real Estate in time for the Summer League.

The two young players’ experience overseas is part of Sliema ASC’s commitment to provide their youth players with training at the very top level of the game.

The Blues, meanwhile, are receiving applications for the Summer Swimming and Waterpolo Nursery. One may obtain more details from darren@sliema-asc.org.mt.
