Jewish artefacts of significant historical and biblical value have been donated to Il-Ħaġar Museum, Victoria, by Joseph Baruch Silver, a collector and patron of archeo­logical parks in Israel, pictured with museum curator Mgr Joseph Farrugia (right). The artefacts, which date back to about 1,000 BC, include 2,800-year-old terracotta oil lamps from the period of the divided kingdoms of Judah and Israel, a 2,300-year-old oil lamp from the Hellenistic period, another from the time of Jesus and other pottery items and coins dating from about 1,850 BC to the time of Jesus.
