P. Cutajar & Co. Ltd launched its new Wine and Dine series of events earlier this month where it unveiled its most prestigious selection of wines from Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite).

Guests were treated to a sumptuous dinner at the Barracuda restaurant prepared by its new executive chef Andrew Pace.

Caroline Faucher, a representative from Domaine Barons de Rothshchild (Lafite), flew in from Bordeaux to present the wines.

“We organise the Wine and Dine events to launch and give people a chance to sample our most premium wine brands by creating a unique dining experience in collaboration with some of our best restaurant clients around Malta and Gozo,” said Matthew Cuomo, wines manager at P. Cutajar & Co Ltd.

“Our aim is to educate our customers on how to pair their wines with great food,” he said, adding that the event was particularly promoted with the members of the P. Cutajar wine club.

On arrival, guests were treated to three different wines from Vina Los Vascos of Chile, each paired with a different canapé.

Dinner then consisted of five different courses each paired with a different wine.

The main dish consisted of a flame-grilled cut of Wagyu beef which was paired with the top wine from Bodegas Caro of Argentina.

P. Cutajar & Co. Ltd has organised a number of wine events in the past, including its Wine Experience festival that was aimed at educating and sampling its wines.

In 2013, the company took a strategic decision to focus on building its Wine and Dine brand to create an improved experience at local restaurants.
