Members of the UK’s 1st Keswick Scout Group joined the Easter camp of the Stella Maris College Scout Group.

The camp, attended by 100 cubs, scouts, ventures, leaders and helpers, was held at a privately-owned site and included around 20 large tents, comprising sleeping quarters, a kitchen, store, shower and a large marquee tent that served as a dining area.

Activities held during the camp included archery, crate stacking, laser tag, obstacle courses, crafts, sumo wrestling, abseiling, backwoods cooking, day and night hikes, treasure hunts, games, sports, cultural visits to St Paul’s catacombs and the Mdina Dungeons, and a camp fire animated by Frank O’Neil, an ex-scout of the group. A Maltese night and fundraising event was also held. During their stay in Malta the Keswick scouts also attended scuba-diving courses in various locations around the island.

Members of the two groups, which have been in regular contact since 2007, hope to meet again this summer at the 23rd World Scout Jamboree in Japan, as part of their respective scout associations’ contingents.
