With six matches to go Chelsea are almost home and dry and only a football tremor will shift them from the apex of the Premier League standings.

Tomorrow, Jose Mourinho’s Blues clash against FA Cup finalists Arsenal at the Emirates.

At present, Arsenal are ten points behind Chelsea who beat Manchester United at Stamford Bridge in their last match.

This week, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger credited Championship strugglers Reading for more than making a game of the semi-final at Wembley last week.

Arsenal’s Wojciech Szczesny said he felt sorry for Adam Federici, the Reading keeper who committed a costly error as Arsenal went on to win 2-1.

Alexis Sanchez is developing a fondness for Wembley. Two goals for Chile against England were followed up by two goals in the FA Cup semi-final. He will be keen to continue in his trek against Aston Villa in the final.

After the win over Manchester United Mourinho went on the warpath again, bemoaning a ‘campaign’ being orchestrated against his side.

In the last ten Premier fixtures at the Arsenal den, Chelsea hold the upperhand, having won four to the Gunners’ two.

Although Manchester United are now out of the running for the title, the fans should be satisfied with Louis Van Gaal’s first season in the English game.

Tomorrow, United play guests to Everton at Goodison Park.

United left-back Luke Shaw produced his best performance against Chelsea and insists his problems are now behind him. Radamel Falcao is not a favourite with Van Gaal and is reportedly set to have talks with Liverpool ahead of a potential summer switch from Monaco.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez insisted Romelu Lukaku is the only designated penalty-taker after his side missed another spot-kick in the 1-0 win over Burnley.

Kevin Mirallas scored the winner but Ross Barkley missed the penalty as Everton downed Burnley who had Ashley Barnes sent off.

Manchester City’s fight is now with Arsenal and Manchester United for the runners-up spot.

This evening, the outgoing champions entertain FA Cup finalists Aston Villa at the Etihad Stadium.

This week, Yaya Toure’s agent called Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini a ‘weak manager’ and criticised the club’s chief executive Ferran Soriano and director of football Txiki Begiristain, signalling a possible exit for the Ivory Coast midfielder.
