Castro out: Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Gonzalo Castro will miss the rest of the season after picking up a knee injury. Castro, a graduate of the club’s academy, has scored two goals in 20 league appearances this term.

Charged: Bayern Munich’s boss Pep Guardiola has been charged by UEFA for wearing a T-shirt promoting a campaign for justice surrounding the death of an Argentine journalist. Guardiola wore the T-shirt stating “Justica para Topo” at a press conference before the second leg of the Champions League match against Porto. It relates to a campaign calling for an investigation into the death of journalist Topo Lopez in a car accident at the World Cup.

Lennon: Everton boss Roberto Martinez insists the focus has to be on getting the most out of Aaron Lennon’s loan spell before thoughts turn to a permanent deal. Lennon, 28, has just four more matches to impress as he is ineligible to play against parent club Tottenham on the final day of the season. “Aaron is enjoying his football and his contribution to the team has been significant,” said the manager. “At the end of the season, will be the moment to sit down.”

Blatter: FIFA president Sepp Blatter will travel to meet Israeli and Palestinian leaders next month to try to avert a vote to suspend Israel from world soccer’s governing body, Palestinian FA chief Jibril Rajoub said.
