A Senglea man yesterday denied seriously injuring a bouncer with an ice bucket when he was stopped from taking it out of a night club in San Ġwann.

The Aria Club bouncer was taken to hospital with a two-centimetre long cut on his forehead, it emerged in court.

Mechanical fitter Kevin Turner, 40, appeared before Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera charged with seriously injuring Denis Cuschieri.

The incident took place at about 1.30am on Sunday, when Mr Cuschieri stopped Mr Turner, who was allegedly trying to leave the establishment with an ice bucket.

Mr Turner pleaded not guilty of assaulting the bouncer, seriously injuring him, breaching the peace, being drunk in public and relapsing.

Magistrate Scerri Herrera granted him bail against a €500 deposit and a €2,000 personal guarantee.

Police Inspector Edel Mary Camilleri prosecuted.
