The Gżira health clinic was originally a primary school and never intended to be used as a clinic. The old place has become shabby, dismal and unwelcoming, and not fit to house the various departments.

Old and frail people who can hardly walk have to go up and down a long flight of steps to be attended to.

The Minister of Health should pay a visit to this place to see for himself and do something about it.

My wife had to wait behind a long queue from 7.30am until almost 10am on an empty stomach to have her blood tested.

At one time there was quite a pandemonium as the doctor took half an hour before he started to see the disgruntled and frustrated patients.

My wife almost fainted and we had to hurry home.

If the government really cares for the sick and the old, it should try to remedy this bad situation as early as possible.
