Arts and culture magazine, Patron, is launching its fifth issue in St Anne’s Square, Sliema, at 8pm on Friday.

Dubbed ‘The Quality Issue’, this edition digs into the cultural progress of Malta’s creative industries and attempts to focus on any vestige of quality in this rapidly changing social environment: applauding the good, criticis-ing the bad and providing suggestions for a promising future.

Photography, being one of the strongest and most consistently improving fields in Malta, has a strong presence and the magazine includes some of Malta’s best photographers in a feature by Julian Vassallo and some of the best architectural photographers from Architecture Project in another.

The issue includes interviews with Zvezdan Reljic and David Pisani of Ede Books, St James Cavalier Centre for Creativity director Toni Sant, cinematographer Chris Zarb and musician Jim Hickey. Musical hub Trackage Scheme brings a selection of Malta’s hottest musicians. Sounds during the event will be curated by Ben Vincenti.
