The listing and trading of the shares of GlobalCapital and the 5.6 per cent GlobalCapital bonds 2014/16 has been suspended by the Malta Financial Services Authority to prevent any false market being created in the securities of GlobalCapital.

The MFSA said in a statement it took its decision after the major shareholder in GlobalCapital plc, BAI Co (Mtius) Ltd, which is the owner of 48.45 per cent of the issued share capital of GlobalCapital, was put under the control of conservators by the authorities in Mauritius.

The suspension will be in effect for 10 working days.

Further action, should this be necessary, would be communicated prior to the end of the suspension, the MFSA said.
