Webb: CONCACAF president Jeffrey Webb was re-elected unopposed yesterday for a second term as head of the governing body for North and Central America and the Caribbean. Webb took over as president in 2012 following the resignation of long-standing leader Jack Warner who was embroiled in a cash-for-votes scandal.

Iniesta: Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta could miss tomorrow’s La Liga game at home to Valencia after tests yesterday confirmed he suffered a bruised pelvis in Wednesday’s 3-1 Champions League win at Paris St Germain. The La Liga leaders did not say how long Iniesta might be sidelined but will be hoping he is fit for PSG’s visit to the Nou Camp on Tuesday.

Gisdol: Hoffenheim have ex-tended the contract of their coach Markus Gisdol until 2018, which will take him to over five years in charge of the club. The 45-year-old took charge of Hoffenheim in April 2013 and in two years he has established the club in the top half of the table. Hoffenheim are still in the hunt for a place in Europe next season with just two points separating them from sixth-placed Augsburg and a berth in the Europa League.

Kane: Tottenham’s Harry Kane is among the six players to have been nominated for the Premier League’s PFA Player of the Year award. Kane, who has scored 19 goals this season, is joined on the shortlist by Man. United’s David de Gea, Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho, Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez and Chelsea duo Diego Costa and Eden Hazard.

Windsor park: Northern Ireland’s international matches at Windsor Park in Belfast could be in doubt after the Irish FA said yesterday that it will study the findings of a preliminary engineer’s report into the damaged West Stand. Windsor Park has been closed since cracks were discovered in the stand following last month’s Euro 2016 qualifier against Finland and the stadium is scheduled to host N. Ireland’s qualifier against Romania on June 13.

Ligue 1: France’s Ligue 1 will use goal-line technology (GLT) next season. “The LFP board has decided to adopt the goal-line technology in Ligue 1 for the 2015-16 season,” the LFP said. GLT is currently used in the English Premier League and was also used at the World Cup in Brazil.
