Qormi vs Balzan (today at 6pm, National Stadium).

Balzan will be looking to strengthen their grip on fourth place when they take on Qormi.

The Reds are on a roll as four wins in a row have lifted them four points clear of Floriana.

Oliver Spiteri, the Balzan coach, is still without Colombian forward Oscar Guerrero, who is nursing an injury, but otherwise he has a full squad at his disposal.

Qormi, still embroiled in relegation mire despite showing improvement in their last outings, are without long-term absentee Roderick Sammut while Serb defender Zoran Levnaic faces a fitness test after sustaining a knee injury.

Previous results: Balzan vs Qormi 2-1, 1-1.

Sliema Wanderers vs Valletta (today at 8pm, National Stadium).

Valletta have a fight on their hands to maintain their charge for the runners-up spot as they face a Sliema Wanderers side without a number of regular players.

The Citizens’ 1-0 derby victory over Floriana came at a cost as left-back Ian Azzopardi suffered a broken nose after being elbowed by Amadou Samb while Luke Dimech and Hamza Barry are suspended.

Midfielder Shaun Bajada and striker Djamel Leeflang are sidelined with injuries.

Sliema are still seething after throwing away a two-goal advantage against leaders Hibs who played with 10 men for most of the match.

Coach Stephen Azzopardi welcomes back in the fray Marko Potezica, who returns from suspension, Italian midfielder Andrea Pisanu, who has recovered from a back injury, and wing-back Alex Muscat who only lasted 14 minutes against Hibs due to illness.

The Sliema mentor must check on the fitness of Aidan Friggieri, Beppe Muscat and Michael Mifsud who have been down with flu.

Previous results: Valletta vs Sliema Wanderers 5-0, 3-1.

Tarxien Rainbows vs Mosta (tomorrow at 6pm, National Stadium).

After halting a seven-match losing streak with a last-gasp 1-0 win over Naxxar Lions, Tarxien Rainbows will be seeking to step up their relegation battle when they meet Mosta.

Senegalese forward Mouhamed Soly has yet to complete a three-match ban while goalkeeper Sean Mintoff is out after being stretchered off during Monday’s match.

Coach Clive Mizzi is hopeful that Spanish duo Carlos Hevia and Jorge Yepes will be certified fit to play after missing the Naxxar match through injury.

Mosta, on their part, are sweating on the fitness of a number of players who picked up knocks in the 3-2 defeat of Pietà Hotspurs.

Ryan Grech (groin), Karl Pulo (ankle), Mark Brincat (knee) and Ian Zammit (knee) are all rated doubtful while Michael Dawood is out with a hamstring strain.

Previous results: Mosta vs Tarxien Rainbows 2-1, 1-1.

Żebbuġ Rangers vs Birkirkara (Sunday at 4pm, Hibs Stadium).

Birkirkara will fancy their chances of getting back to winning ways when they take on bottom-placed Żebbuġ Rangers.

The Stripes needed two late goals to rescue a point in a 2-2 draw with Qormi last week.

Paul Zammit, the Birkirkara coach, is sure to be without two key components of his defence as Joseph Zerafa and Maurizio Latini Mazzetti received a one-match ban in midweek.

Żebbuġ are in dire straits as Monday’s 4-1 defeat to Balzan, their sixth in a row, left them bottom of the standings with 12 points, level with Pietà and two adrift of Tarxien.

Coach Alfonso Greco can’t pick David Reano on Sunday as the Argentine defender is suspended.

Midfielder Thomas Paris is expected to shake off a niggling knee injury

Previous results: Birkirkara vs Żebbuġ Rangers 4-0, 3-1.

Pietà Hotspurs vs Naxxar Lions (Sunday at 6pm, Hibs Stadium).

Both Pietà Hotspurs and Naxxar Lions need the three points to ease their relegation worries.

Up to two weeks ago, Naxxar looked well on course to secure survival with something to spare but Monday’s reverse to Tarxien has left them just four points clear of the danger zone.

Pietà, on their part, are in a more precarious position as they have slipped to the bottom of the table following their upset to Mosta.

Jesmond Zerafa, the Naxxar coach, has no selection problems.

Pietà coach Noel Coleiro can’t lead his team from the touchline on Sunday as he begins a two-match ban.

Midfielder Ricardo Costa (groin) and striker Luke Micallef (knee) are injured.

Previous results: Naxxar Lions vs Pietà Hotspurs 4-0, 1-1.
