Silvio Camilleri is currently presenting on Campus FM a series of programmes featuring Baroque music.

This week, he chose works by Maltese composers and I am bound to say how grateful and fortunate we classical music lovers are to hear music hitherto lying unheard for hundreds of years in museum archives.

We owe it to people like Camilleri who work hard and rummage through the archives to bring to us music we would otherwise never hear.

One must also mention George Peresso, who also thoroughly researches his presentation of classical music programmes.

One cannot help but wonder why such superb work by these two gentlemen is not given more prominence by Campus FM. Instead, for seven hours daily we have to tolerate the effort put up by probably the worst classical music station on our airwaves, Classic FM.

Campus FM has enough Maltese talent to replace Classic FM.
