The match will take place on July 29, and Tottenham said it would be their only match outside Europe this summer.

Klopp: Juergen Klopp is being tipped as Manchester City’s next manager after announcing that he would be leaving Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season after seven years in charge. With Manuel Pellegrini’s future at City under scrutiny after his side’s feeble defence of the Premier League title, speculation is rife that Klopp will replace the Chilean.

No jail: Dundee FC midfielder Paul McGowan has been spared jail following his latest police assault conviction. The 27-year-old was placed under a restriction of liberty order during a hearing at Airdrie Sheriff Court yesterday, which confines him to his home between 7pm and 7am for 16 weeks. McGowan will have to wear a tag and his punishment will rule him out of two upcoming night fixtures.

Estudiantes: Mauricio Pellegrino has been sacked as coach of Estudiantes after Monday’s 2-0 defeat at Tigre, their sixth match in a row without a win in the Argentine championship. “We have decided to end Mauricio Pellegrino’s contract. We thank him and his coaching staff for what they gave us,” the club said.
