The Frozen phenomenon shows no sign of slowing down as sales figures reveal the soundtrack to the Disney film was the biggest-selling album of 2014 – shifting 10 million copies.

The album – complete with two different versions of the hit song Let It Go – sold four million more than its nearest rival, Taylor Swift’s 1989, which sold six million according to music industry body the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI).

Its digital music report also showed Idina Menzel’s version of Let It Go was the fifth-biggest selling single of the year, with 10.9 million copies sold.

Since its release in November 2013, Frozen has become a profit-making juggernaut for Disney who has already announced plans for a sequel.

It made nearly $1.3 billion at the global box office and generated a massive merchandising revenue stream.

Pharrell Williams had the year’s biggest selling single with Happy, shifting 13.9 million copies, ahead of Katy Perry’s Dark Horse which sold 13.2 million and John Legend’s All of Me which sold 12.3 million.
