Prof. Fabiola Sfodera, an associate professor from La Sapienza University of Rome, will be in Malta this week to conduct a seminar on 'Developing and Marketing Experiential Tourism'.

Research conducted in various countries has identified that tourists today are not satisifed just by seeing or visiting a heritage site, but would rather partake of an experience.

Experiential tourism is an outgrowth of a global movement toward experiential learning, which enables people to create meaning through direct experience.
The seminar is being organised by the Tourism Innovation Generation Cluster (TIGC), a concept developed by Creolabs Ltd. at the Microsoft Innovation Centre with a mission to promote and facilitate the development of innovation in the tourism sector.

The seminar will be held at the Microsoft Innovation Centre at Skyparks Business Centre on Friday April 17 from 10am till 1pm.

Prof. Sfodera is an expert on the topic wjp has advised both the World Trade Organisation and the Italian Government on tourism development.

The seminar should be of interest to tourism policy makers, hoteliers, heritage site and attraction operators, local councils, NGO’s, product developers and companies which provide services to the tourism industry.
