Spartak fined: Spartak Moscow have been fined a total 12,000 euros by the Russian Football Union after racist slogans were displayed on a banner in a violence-marred league match against Arsenal Tula this month. The match, won 1-0 by Tula, was also marred by violence in the stands with Spartak fans climbing on to the roof of the stadium and throwing flares and other objects at rival supporters.
Campagnaro: Defender Hugo Campagnaro will be unavailable for Inter for ‘three to four weeks’ as he’s suffering from a calf injury. Campagnaro, 34, will miss the derby against Milan on Sunday as well as the visit of Roma on April 25. “Hugo Campagnaro has a first grade lesion to the medial area of the right calf,” Inter announced in a statement yesterday.
Grenier: Lyon will finally be able to welcome back Clement Grenier from injury when they take on Bastia today. The midfielder, a reported transfer target for Newcastle and Arsenal in recent seasons, has not played since suffering a groin injury in August and subsequently undergoing surgery. But coach Hubert Fournier welcomed him back by revealing: “He has trained normally for two weeks and played a good part of a reserve game 10 days ago.”
Lens fans: Lens fans will not be allowed to travel to this weekend’s game against Metz. Lens visit the Stade Saint-Symphorien on Saturday evening but, not for the first time this season, they will do so unaccompanied by supporters. A statement on Lens’ official website read: “Considering the incidents witnessed in the past between supporters of the two clubs, the Prefecture of La Moselle has published an order forbidding Lens supporters from attending the Stade Saint-Symphorien this Saturday.”
Appeal: Perth Glory’s appeal to overturn their expulsion from the A-League play-offs will be heard today, Football Federation Australia said. Glory were excluded from the play-offs last week after the governing body found the club had breached its salary cap. The club responded by applying for a Supreme Court injunction in Western Australia state but shelved the court action on Monday pending a hearing with the FFA’s appeals board.
