St Hubert's Hunters Association (Kaccaturi San Ubertu) has thanked those who voted for the retention of spring hunting in its current controlled and legal manner.

It said in a statement that it was pledging its full cooperation with the forces of law to ensure the strictest compliance with regulations. It also promised not to tolerate any abuse and warned it would name and shame any defaulters.

The association said that while it respected the rights of others to enjoy the Maltese countryside and their recreational activities, it wanted to remind everyone of the rights of private property and the value of reciprocal respect.

It said it would be conducting a study throughout the spring hunting season on the migration of Turtle Dove and Quail migration as well as a bird photography competition amongst its members.
