Possibly what irritates me most in the local political media reportage is pettiness.

More concern is sometimes shown for trivialities rather than substance, as exemplified when the deal with Barts Medical School was recently announced.

There was undue controversy about whether what the government signed was a ‘fully executed final contract’ or a mere ‘memorandum of understanding’.

At this stage what does it really matter? Any ‘boasting’ would eventually be more than overwhelmed if the MoU leads to nothing.
