A new Subway restaurant has opened in Żabbar Road, Fgura, bringing to five the number of Subway outlets on the island. The others are in Gżira, Msida, Paceville and St Julian’s.

The restaurant was inaugurated on March 31 by Gerald Darmanin, Subway Malta operations manager, in the presence of Fgura mayor Byron Camilleri, together with the Subway crew members, supervisors and outlet managers.

To celebrate this occasion, Subway organised a ‘Guest Appreciation Day’ at their new outlet where they gave out to customers 100 free Subway sandwiches, free soft drinks to all paying adults and free cookies and balloons for children.

A face painter and balloon artist was also present to keep children entertained.

During the day, numerous visitors were treated to the Subway dining experience, including members of the Fgura social community, the full team and coaching staff of Fgura FC, as well as the committee of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Band Club.

There are more Subway restaurants in the world than any other restaurant chain, making it a leader in the global development of the quick service restaurant industry. Founded in 1965, it has now 43,726 restaurants in 110 countries around the world, of which 4,500 are in Europe.

The first European Subway store opened in Ireland in 1992. Since then the brand has expanded its operations and increased its presence in Europe with stores now open in 33 countries.
