On many roads we see the sign “slow moving traffic keep to the left”.

What really intrigues me is why, when hearses are doing their job, that is carrying the dead, followed by funeral cars, they always keep to the outside lane.

Everyone knows that this procession is moving slowly.

Are there any exceptions made in driving laws for the hearse to hog the outside lane? If this is indeed the case, can the cars in a funeral carry a sign saying “funeral” on the back window so that they may avoid other motorists embarrassing themselves by hooting the horn?
