Easter Sunday was a busy day, especially for the boat ferrying passengers crossing from Vittoriosa and Senglea to Valletta.

On several trips, the ferry leaving Vittoriosa was packed and was not able to take more passengers from Senglea.

The coxswain was kind enough to shout advice to waiting passengers at Senglea to cross the bridge and embark from Vittoriosa.

It took the ferry just seven minutes to cross to Valletta. However, it took passengers 15 to 20 minutes to embark because the tickets had to be purchased on the boat while boarding.

I urge the management to take note of such grave shortcomings during busy days, such as feasts and other occasions when hundreds of people use this service. To add insult to injury, there is no shelter for waiting passengers.

An important question is: why was the master of the boat taking pictures of waiting passen-gers every time he came along the quay to allow them to board.

Apart from the fact that it’s unlawful to take such pictures, I fail to understand the reason.
