BUSUTTIL. On April 3, at Karin Grech Rehabilitation Hospital, MARIA, née Tabone, aged 88, of Sliema, widow of Francis and mother of the late Emily, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her son Carmel and his wife Frances, her beloved granddaughter Anne Marie and her husband Carlo Bisazza, and her cherished great-grandsons Beppe and Nicky. She also leaves to mourn her loss her brother Tony, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Karin Grech Rehabilitation Hospital today at 1.30pm for Sacro Cuor parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2pm followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. The family would like to thank all the staff at Dar Madonna tal-Mellieħa and RW6, Karin Grech Rehabilitation Hospital, for their care and dedication. She will forever remain in our hearts. CAMILLERI. On April 3, GIULIA, aged 92, passed away peacefully at St Catherine’s Home, Attard, comforted by the rites of Holy Mother Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her nephews Carmel, widower of Marika, Alfred and his wife Terry and Marianne, widow of her nephew Frank and their families, other relatives and friends. Mass praesente cadavere, will be celebrated today at St Mary’s parish church, Attard, at 2.30pm followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request, but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi will be appreciated. Special thanks to all the nuns and helpers at St Catherine’s Home for their dedicated care.

MANGION. On April 2, AMELIA, passed away peacefully to meet the Risen Lord comforted by the Rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her loving husband Anthony, her sons Claude and his partner Swantje, Alain and his wife Mariella, and her beloved granddaughter Julia, her sister Carmelina Pagnelli and brother Joseph Muscat, her nephews and nieces, her helper Mercedita, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei tomorrow, at 8.45am, for Jesus of Nazareth parish church in Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 9am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addorolata Cemetary. PACE. On April 6, at Mater Dei Hospital, CARMEL (Bubu) of St Julians, widower of Violet, aged 87, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his daughter Antoinette and her husband Victor Azzopardi, his sons Adrian and his wife Leanne and Noel and his wife Saverin, his grandsons and granddaughter, great-grandsons and great-granddaughters, his brother Peter and his wife Gina, his sister Josephine and her husband Austin Grixti, his in-laws Maria Pirotta, widow of Joe and Carmel Pirotta, widower of Doris, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Wednesday, April 8 at 8.30am for St Julians parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9am, followed by interment in the family grave at Lija cemetery. PAVIA. On April 6, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPH of Xemxija, aged 91, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his beloved wife Emily nee Zammit, his children Josephine and her husband Hector Galea, Anthony and his wife Grace, and Edward and his partner Joanne, his grandchildren Arthur, Jean Paul and Alisa, his great-grandchildren Matthew and Thomas, his sister Violet, many relatives and friends. She leaves to mourn her loss her children, Mario and his wife Margaret, Roberta and her husband Alberto, her beloved grandchildren Rachel and Adam, her brother Anton and his wife Marlene, her in-laws Louis Cuschieri, widower of her sister Winnie, Jane, widow of her brother Robert, Tony and his wife Therese, Eileen, Mae and her husband William, and Emma, widow of Vincent Randon, her nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. World War II radars talk

Tony Abela, author of the book Malta’s Early Warning System During World War II, which deals with the radar history in Malta between 1939 and 1945, will be giving a talk themed ‘WWII radars and military history at Dingli’ on Thursday at Din l-Art Ħelwa, in Valletta at 6.30pm.

The talk will be delivered in English and is free of charge but a donation to Din l-Art Ħelwa, in aid of its restoration projects, will be appreciated.
