The parish church of Għajnsielem was packed. They all wanted to be as close to the family as much as possible but also to give a very strong hug to Leah, the six-year-old angel. The presence of so many children was very moving and they all gave Leah their last personal goodbye. The parting at the end of a rosary made of ballons was the last moving moments of a very reflective and emotional Mass.

The uniting spirit of a Gozo village comes out so strongly in these sad moments.

Bishop Mario Grech made an excellent homily as usual. He did not promise false answers to our questions. He was direct, unhesitating, but managed to offer hope to those present.

Leah was not born in vain. She loved and was loved. She gave hope and a strong example to many others. Her ever present smile in spite of her pain left a very strong impression on all of us.
