Calamatta Cuschieri is holding its second blood donation drive in collaboration with the National Blood Transfusion Unit tomorrow

Calamatta Cuschieri’s staff, most of whom will be donating blood, will be joined by staff members from Camilleri Preziosi Advocates.

The campaign forms part of the group’s corporate social responsibility activities, which aim to give back to the community as well as help people in need.

Alan Cuschieri, co-CEO at Calamatta Cuschieri said that around 60 units of blood were needed on a daily basis, so every volunteer counted.

A normal blood donation gave one unit of blood and people who suffered great blood loss, might require up to 50. One or two serious accidents were often enough to drain blood stocks.

The public is invited to take part in the campaign. The mobile unit will be located in Merchant Street, Valletta between 8.30am and 1pm.
