A new project, called the Terrafirma Collective, has been set up to facilitate collaboration between environmental NGOs.

Present for the official launch by Flimkien għal Ambjent Aħjar, Friends of the Earth Malta and the Malta Organic Agriculture Movement, Minister Helena Dalli said this new platform would strengthen ENGOs’ position within civil society.

“Mindful of the local and international environmental challenges, this platform could create the right climate in which different ENGOs can plan and implement action on a national and European level,” Dr Dalli said.

She added that the new project can benefit from the government’s Civil Society Fund through which 38 organisations last year received €341,000 in funding. This year’s allocation has been increased by €60,000.

Interested NGOs can join the new platform by sending an e-mail on info@terrafirmacollective.org.
