Malta yesterday celebrated 100 years of aviation with a flypast organised by the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, the Tourism Ministry and Transport Malta. In 1915, the first recorded flight was made by a seaplane over Grand Harbour. Originally planned to take place in February, the formation departed from Luqa and flew over several disused airfields in Malta and Gozo which in the past 100 years played a role in history.
