‘Believe and achieve’ is the name of the new Dingli Girl Guides’ headquarters.

This year is extra special for the group as it is also celebrating its 15th anniversary. The premises were opened following Mass at Dingli parish church and a short parade to the Guides’ new home.

The Dingli Girl Guides were set up in 1999 by Rita Schembri and over the years the group grew from strength to strength.

Through the Dingli Girl Guides many girls have grown up to be responsible women. This gives satisfaction to the volunteer leaders who dedicate time and energy to run the group.

“As adult Girl Guides we keep volunteering because we gain experience and training, have fun and gain new friends. Guiding gives us a sense of pride and satisfaction, knowing that our non-formal educational programme is making a difference in the lives of many girls and young women.

“Finally, as leaders, we form a bond that lasts forever,” said Joyce Schembri, one of the Dingli adult leaders.
