The National Sport School’s U-12 and U-13 football squads will be flying to the Netherlands tomorrow to take part in a five-day training camp in Rotterdam.

The NSS teams were invited for this training camp by the Dutch FA’s Talent Performance Department led by Maurice Hagebeuk.

The two squads, made up of 31 players, will play three matches against Feyenoord, Sparta Rotterdam and Spartaan’20.

This week the players practised at the Ta’ Qali training grounds under the helm of the school’s football head coaches, Paul Zammit and Stefan Sultana.

This camp will not only serve as a unique experience to the students, but also as exposure since part of the arrangements include observation by high profile Dutch FA personnel.

The coaches and school officials accompanying the young footballers will also have the opportunity to spend a full day at the Sparta Rotterdam training grounds and practise with the club’s professional coaches.

The trip to the Netherlands is made possible thanks to the support of the Ministry of Education and Youth and Sport secretariat, the MFA and Konica Minolta.
