About €100 were stolen during a hold-up yesterday on a food outlet in Manwel Dimech Street, Sliema.

The police said that an armed and hooded man demanded cash and made off with about €100 from the till.  Two people were in the shop at the time.  No one was injured.

A Magisterial inquiry has been appointed.   

The incident took place some two hours after €4,000 were stolen in a hold-up on an insurance outlet in Pieta.
