The Faculty of Theology of the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium together with the Augustinian Institute – Malta will be holding jointly an international conference on Augustine of Hippo’s preaching.

This third series of lectures will be held in Malta from April 8-10 and will deal with some very particular aspects of Augustine’s preaching, namely, to gauge the impact which it had on the state of the Catholic Church in North Africa and on the Holy Roman Empire.

The Maltese Augustinian Province is the major host of the event. All lectures will take place at Hotel San Pawl, Blacktail Street, St Paul’s Bay.

Among the lecturers are some names of international repute from the UK and KU Leuven.

The speakers are all experts in the history of the Catholic Church in North Africa at the time of Augustine and on the preaching techniques and topics regarding theology, philosophy, social life and spirituality in North Africa in the 5th century.
