Opposition leader Simon Busuttil this morning met 16- and 17-year-olds, who would be voting for the first time in April’s local election, and encouraged them to vote for young people who opted to enter politics to be of service to the people.

Dr Busuttil met the young people outside the Junior College. He said that had it been for Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, they would not be voting because although he gave them the vote, he did not want local elections to be held.

He said it was a shame they would not be voting in the spring hunting referendum.

Dr Busuttil pointed out that nearly half of Nationalist Party candidates were under 40. This confirmed the renewal process the PN was going through, attracting new people most of whom were young and full of energy.
