The Eden Leisure Group has signed a 10-year contract with InterContinental Hotel Group to open a Holiday Inn Express Hotel in Malta.
The group is demolishing the former Giorgianis Hostel in Paceville, St Julian’s, to make space for the 100-room, three-star Holiday Inn Express operated by the InterContinental Hotels Group.
As well as free Wi-Fi and a green environment, Eden Group said the new hotel will focus on giving business and leisure travellers more on quality accommodation, staff and the general experience.
Holiday Inn Express, which should be finished by December, will be linked to the InterContinental from within.
“We believe that providing three-star accommodation will allow us to cater to all levels of tourist,” said Eden Leisure group chairman Ian De Cesare.
“Those who wish to pay less but want a comfortable, pleasant experience can enjoy the Holiday Inn facilities, whereas those wanting to spend more for added luxury, comfort and facilities, can enjoy five-star accommodation at the InterContinental Malta.
“Those wanting that super exclusive experience can enjoy the brand new luxury suites on the 17th and 18th floor, which are also part of our renovation project.”
