Dynamo Kiev face disciplinary proceedings after their fans were accused of racist behaviour during the Europa League second leg against Everton on Thursday.

The Ukrainian side advanced to the quarter-finals, with a 5-2 win on the night securing a 6-4 aggregate victory.

However the victory was followed by allegations which will be dealt with by UEFA’s control, ethics and disciplinary body next Thursday.

Falcao not happy says former agent

Radamel Falcao’s former agent claims the Colombian striker has been driven to tears by his Manchester United predicament.

Falcao signed for United in a big-money season-long loan deal from Monaco on transfer deadline day in September, but has struggled to make an impact at Old Trafford, and was selected to turn out for the under-21 team against Tottenham last week.

But his former agent Silvano Espindola said Falcao did not understand the decision.

“I am not going to say that he feels happy because he isn’t. We talk a lot and we cry together,” Espindola said.

“It’s not an easy situation because every player wants to play and score goals.”

FIFA’s $2bn revenue

FIFA raked in more than $2 billion in revenue in 2014 while its rainy day cash reserves rose to $1.523 billion, soccer’s governing body said in its annual financial report.

Meanwhile, revenue for the 2011-2014 cycle, which included the Brazil World Cup, was $5.718 billion while expenditure also rose to $5.380 billion.

FIFA said that during that period it reinvested $1.052 billion in the development of football around the world.

“Thanks to the success of the World Cup, FIFA was able to spend more than ever on football development with more than $1 billion invested in projects in its six confederations,” said FIFA.

Pele salutes ‘excellent’ Kane

Pele has joined Harry Kane’s growing list of admirers as the Brazilian great says he has been impressed by the “excellent” Tottenham striker.

The 21-year-old’s Roy of the Rovers rise shows no signs of abating, with the Spurs forward being rewarded for his exceptional form with a first senior international call-up on Thursday.

“I think Kane is an excellent player – he could be a good one for England,” Pele said.

“What is important is the teamwork, I think. You cannot win games with individual players.

“I used to say, ‘God give me the gift to play football, to do something’, but you must always be in good shape. That is one thing, and tell Harry Kane never think he can be the best.

“Always he has something to learn... that is my advice.”

Sterling contract talks on hold

Liverpool forward Raheem Sterling and his agent have put contract talks on hold until the end of the season as speculation about his future continues to grow.

The club have been in negotiations over a new deal to replace the 20-year-old’s existing contract – which expires in the summer of 2017 – for several months now.

Manager Brendan Rodgers has previously said Liverpool have offered him an “incredible” offer but after further talks failed to reach a satisfactory conclusion the saga has been postponed until the current campaign is over.

Asked whether there was likely to be a solution found soon Rodgers said: “Not between now and the end of the season.”

Barca’s Pique eyes El Clasico victory

Gerard Pique believes a win against Real Madrid tonight could be crucial in helping Barcelona regain the title at the end of the season.

Barcelona go into El Clasico with a one-point lead over their bitter rivals in La Liga, but a win would give them breathing space at the top of the table and Pique admitted it could be a turning point in the season.

“Winning the Clasico would be a very important step forward,” he said.

“There are ten games left and it’s very tight between us.

“If we get three points it also means that they won’t, and that will open a gap that might end up winning us the title.”

Mladenov quits

Stoycho Mladenov, one of the most successful coaches in Bulgarian soccer in recent years, has made another U-turn and quit CSKA Sofia as he feels he no longer has the support of the club’s shareholders.

“I have no right to remain as CSKA coach because the major shareholders don’t believe in me,” the 57-year-old former striker said in a statement addressed to the club’s fans.

“I don’t put (chairman) Alexander Tomov in that number. I believe that a man, who would leave his heart for the club, will replace me. CSKA is alive thanks to you!”

Mladenov decided to end his fourth stint at the club after the 31-times Bulgarian champions were beaten 2-0 by Botev Plovdiv last week, their third straight defeat without scoring a goal.
