The European Commission Representation in Malta held a seminar to launch a study on the impact and costs of road traffic in Malta.

The study was conducted by the Institute for Climate Change and Sustainable Development of the University of Malta and supported by the Representation.

The seminar was addressed among others by European Commissioner Karmenu Vella, Transport Minister Joe Mizzi and Guus Van De Schouw from the DG Mobility and Transport .

Apart from presenting the key findings of the study, the event also served as an opportunity to discuss in more detail the findings and exchange views on this key policy challenge.

A panel discussion composed of Commission and local experts, among them Maria Attard, director of the Institute for Climate Change and Sustainable Development, concluded the event.

The final phase will involve the conclusion of the study, which will be published in the coming weeks.
