HSBC UK Contact Centre Malta (HBEU) will welcome students from the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (Mcast) as apprentices.

The 10 students selected will immerse themselves in the work environment for between three and 16 weeks. The apprenticeship begins on June 22. The participating students are taking an advanced diploma in financial services from Mcast’s Institute of Business and Commerce.

At the end of the apprenticeship programme, the qualified students are likely to receive full-time employment offers at HBEU.

Established at Swatar in 2006 with a target of 250 employees, the centre now employs 430 employees assisting UK account-holding customers.
