As part of its Eurozone Forecast initiative, EY Malta, supported by the Ministry for Finance and the University of Malta, is holding its second in a series of events related to the Maltese economy.

The event will include a round-up of the latest EY Eurozone and Malta forecasts presented by key guest speaker Tom Rogers, senior economist at Oxford Economics, followed by presentations and ensuing discussions on topics related to the local economic context.

The EY Eurozone Forecast initiative is a quarterly publication on developments across the eurozone and the 18 individual member states, including Malta.

The macroeconomic forecasting is undertaken by Oxford Economics, a leading economics consultancy firm, founded in 1981 as a commercial venture with Oxford University’s Business College.

The event will take place on Thursday at the Portomaso Business Suite of the Hilton Hotel.

Apart from the outlook on the forecasts, Philip von Brockdorff, head of Economics Department at the University of Malta, will be providing an insight into the external costs of transportation.

Chris Meilak, senior manager and economist within the economic advisory sub-service line at EY Malta, will be looking into private equity in Malta.

The event will be opened by Finance Minister Edward Scicluna.

Claudio Grech, shadow minister for the economy, will also participate.

The event will run from 8.30am till noon. Participation is free of charge and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
