Software and design company Steampunk Wizards has launched its flagship gaming app, Bungee Mummy: King’s Escape.

Bungee Mummy: King’s Escape combines risk taking, sharp reflexes and pure adventure but unlike any other mobile game, King Phero rewards players with real-life 3D printed collectables in the quest to reclaim the throne and restore peace to Hagareem.

The app is available on iTunes, Google Play and Amazon App Store.

Telecare users up to 9,000

Telecareplus has reached 2,500 subscribers, bringing the number of local Telecare users to almost 9,000.

“This is a clear indication that more people in Malta are taking advantage of assistive technologies for independent living,” emCare general manager Roland Cachia said.

The Telecare system, managed by emCare, was renamed Telecareplus to reflect the added value in the service. In addition to the government-subsidised Telecareplus service, emCare offers various add-ons, which have been taken up by almost 500 people.

Seminar, course on conflict management and mediation

Malta University Consulting Ltd is organising a half-day seminar on conflict management and a short course on mediation at the University Residence, Robert Mifsud Bonnici Street, Lija.

During the seminar on conflict management, to be held on April 7 from 3 to 7pm, participants will be taken through various conflict scenarios, and by means of role play activities they will discover what sort of negotiators they are and what skills they can use to diffuse conflict and reach agreement.

The short course on mediation introduces participants to basic theoretical and methodological skills relating to the mediation process. By the end of the course, participants will be in a position to weigh between different alternatives, handle impasses and be creative in negotiating a mutually acceptable agreement. The 15-hour course will be held from April 13 to 17 from 5 to 8pm.

The co-ordinator and tutor of both events is Mario Caruana, an accredited mediator and lawyer. His practice includes family, civil and commercial mediation. He is a visiting lecturer at the University of Malta and lectures Theory of Conflict Resolution to students on the MA in Mediation.
