I refer to the article ‘Times of Malta wins libel on Victoria Lines terrace’’ (March 13), which is self-explanatory but raises many questions.

The remarks and sentiments expressed by the court are believed to be shared by all law-abiding Maltese citizens.

Now, how about the Government Property Department, as custodian of the government’s real estate, claiming compensation from the person who illegally and abusively occupied public land for so many years without any legal title? Such an action is resorted to in civil cases under Maltese law.

So what’s the difference between this and similar cases?
