The Coast Road project has been going on for quite some time now, at an astronomical cost that ispartially funded by the EU. Exactly how much of it has been funded, I do not know. I do know however that I never thought we needed to change the Coast Road at all.

Turning it into a four-lane road, which eventually bottles up in certain parts and goes back to the previous system, did not warrant such a large project and above all at such a great expense.

There are many roads that have been in dire need of proper resurfacing for a long time, and these seem to have been forgotten. It would have been better for the whole of Malta had these funds been used on other roads.

I wonder whether the Commonwealth meeting in November will be sufficient a reason to have our roads resurfaced properly, and not in a shoddy way, as is the practice.
