The GLARAC Association in the UK provides lasting memorial to those lost as a result of the fateful day of June 8, 1940.

In 2008, the association unveiled a plaque in Malta to honour the 45 Maltese who lost their lives while serving on HMS Glorious, the greatest single loss of life suffered by the Maltese in the Royal Navy in World War II.

Every year, the Malta GLARAC members, together with the association in the UK, hold a memorial service to commemorate the loss of Maltese seamen who perished during the Norwegian campaign in the Arctic Circle along with 1,500 British seamen serving on the HMS Glorious, Ardent and Acasta.

The service will be held today at 10am at the Maritime Museum, Vittoriosa, under the patronage of President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, who will unveil a plaque to commemorate the 75th anniversary.
