I would like to congratulate Mgr Charles Scicluna on becoming Archbishop. I wonder whether he will be attending the crucial Bishops Synod on the Family next October.
Gozo Bishop Mario Grech, as the president of the Maltese Episcopal Conference, attended last October’s session, and to my mind contributed to the deliberations in a rather meaningful way.
I would like to know Scicluna’s views on contraception within marriage and the receiving of Communion by remarried divorcees.
May the Church, under the inspired guidance of Pope Francis, be more sensitive to the signs of the times and learn from its past experience: it has been listening far too long and action is long overdue.
Scicluna recently spoke about his intention to listen. Yes, do listen by all means, but please act.
I was rather nonplussed to hear that no Auxiliary Bishop is likely to be appointed in the foreseeable future.
This is a pity. Is this going to be another one-man show?
