A short course in marine biology will be held from March 25 to May 20 by the Department of Biology of the University’s Faculty of Science.

Lectures will be held on Wednesdays between 6 and 8pm, and two practical sessions will be held on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm.

Course topics include physical and biological aspects of the ma­rine environment, changing patterns of species in the Mediterranean, marine vegetation, human influence on the marine environment, fisheries biology, aquaculture and marine conservation biology.

The course is open to people who have successfully completed the ‘Introduction to Marine Biology’ course or hold a certificate in intermediate biology or equivalent.
