Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said this morning that he has not yet seen the names of  'politically exposed persons' who could be on the list of HSBC Geneve account holders.

The government was handed the list earlier this week and Dr Muscat said on Monday that the names of any persons on the list linked to politics woudl be published.

Dr Muscat replying, said he could not confirm that no more serving or retired MPs were on the list because he had not seen it yet. (The politicians known to have been on the list are former ministers Michael Falzon and Ninu Zammit)

However, Dr Muscat said, the government would also publish the names of persons given political appointments, such as heads of governemnt bodies, and others linked to politics. Appropriate action about them would also be taken.

Dr Muscat replied to questions when he visited the Police Academy at Ta' Kandja.

He said the President has signed into law a Bill which enabled the members of the disciplined forced to join a trade union of their choice. They cannot take strike action.

The people had shown confidence in the disciplined forces and they should reciprocate that confidence.
