BECK. On March 9, MARY BECK BINETT, of Gżira, director, Beck Graphics Ltd, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her dear and beloved brothers Paul and Alfred, widower of Mary, her beloved nephews and nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.30pm for San Ġwann parish church (Our Lady of Lourdes), where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. BORG. On March 8, NORMAN, of Ħamrun, residing in Birkirkara, aged 61, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Carmen, his children Bjorn, Matthew, Daniel, and Carmelina and her husband David, his grandchildren, his brothers Charlie and his wife Emily, Fr Martin and Br David, Discalced Carmelites (OCD), his in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves his residence today at 1.45pm for St Cajetan parish church, Ħamrun, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. CARUANA CURRAN. On Tuesday, March 10, at St James Hospital, Sliema, Judge MAURICE CARUANA CURRAN, aged 96, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church and surrounded by his family. He leaves to mourn his irreparable loss his beloved wife Cettina, widow of Dr Joseph Meilak, his daughter Simone and her husband Kenneth Mizzi, his son Paul, his step-children Stefan Meilak and his wife Lucienne, Erika and her husband Ivan Vella, his grandchildren, Matthew and his fiancée Ludovica, Simon, Jonathan and his wife Sara, his step grandchildren, Bea, James, Jonathan, Chrissa and Andrew, his sister-in-law, Mara, widow of his brother Joe, his brothers and sisters-in-law and all the Psaila family, his nephews and nieces, other relatives and numerous friends. The funeral cortège leaves St James Hospital, Sliema, on Friday, March 13 at 1.15pm for the Jesuits’ church, Merchants Street, Valletta, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated by His Eminence, Cardinal Prospero Grech at 2pm, followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to a noble cause would be appreciated. The family thank the staff at Casa Antonia, Balzan, for their dedication and care during his stay at the home. They also thank the doctors and nurses at St James Hospital for making his last days so comfortable. His family are grateful for his extraordinary life and are comforted in the knowledge that he is now with the angels and his first wife Kate, his beloved daughter Louise and his step grandson Matthew. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

VELLA. On March 9, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPHINE, née Rapa, widow of Benjamin, aged 98, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church and surrounded by her family. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Saviour and his wife Edith, Mary and her husband Paul Vassallo, and Alessandra, widow of her son Joseph, her grandchildren, their spouses and fiancées, her great-granddaughter, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8.30am for St Julian’s parish church, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
