Archbishop-elect Mgr Charles Scicluna said in an interview that he is not Paul Cremona. He is Charlie Scicluna.

This categorical statement indicates he is determined to leave his own imprint on his episcopate for the love of God and his people in all humility. Archbishop Emeritus Paul Cremona has already left his mark by bringing Jesus and his gentleness closer to the people within a not-so-turbulence free episcopate. True to his motto, he leads the people to prepare the way for the Lord.

Mgr Scicluna is already in the process of embarking on the necessary reforms that need to bedone by delegating duties to competent personalities from different age groups and perspectives, thus forming teams covering a wider spectrum of areas. He will be doing this within a context of the offer of himself for the people.

He will equally promote Jesus as the extraordinary “product” he believes He is.

His sense of humour will facilitate effective communication. One particular instance that has struck me is when he spoke on how homilies should be a reinvigorating experience and not something which leads to depression!
