Obituaries

MERCIECA. On March 7, at Mater Dei Hospital, PAULINE, née Esposito, of Swieqi, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church and surrounded by her family. Dearly missed and never forgotten by her daughter Christine, widow of Mario Debono, her sons Alex and Mark, her grandchildren Brooke and Whitney, her sister Julie Esposito, her brother Joseph and his wife Dorothy Esposito, her sisters-in-law Josephine, widow of Francis Gauci, Donnia and her husband John J. Xuereb, her nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 2pm for Ibraġ parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No Flowers by request but donation to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated.

GALEA PACE. On March 6, at Mater Dei Hospital, VICTOR, aged 72, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his loving wife Vivienne, his sons Kurt, Mark and his wife Ruth, his beloved grandchildren Nicola and Jordan, his brothers and sisters and their respective families, his in-laws, nephews and nieces, relatives and numerous friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Tuesday at 8.15am for St Gregory’s parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.45am, followed by a cortege leaving for Gozo. There, another Mass praesente cadavere will be held at St George’s Basilica, Victoria, at 4pm. This will be followed by burial at St Mary’s cemetery, l/o Xewkija. Lord, grant Victor eternal rest.

To mark the seventh anniversary of the passing away and the opening of the beatification process of Chiara Lubich, Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 6.30pm at St Joseph’s School, Blata l-Bajda. Everyone is invited.

Women’s Day at Smart City

To celebrate International Wo­men’s Day, Smart City Malta, in collaboration with Inspire, will be hosting a day at the Laguna Walk next Sunday from 10am to 6pm.

The event will feature a dis­cussion by Malta’s women MEPs, activities organised by Inspire, food stalls and children’s entertainment.

A hairstyling marathon will also be held. Other highlights include flower arranging, cake decoration and nail stalls.
