When I resided in the UK the saying was that commercial breaks during television programmes were meant to give viewers time to make a drink. In actual fact, during these breaks, the power station operators used to see a surge in electricity as most viewers did switch their kettles on.

I do not know whether the same beliefs apply at TVM regarding their commercial breaks, but if they do, TVM must think that their viewers drink a lot of tea or coffee as they certainly have a lot of commercials during their programmes.

One of the worst programmes for this is Xarabank as it never starts at the scheduled time and then there is one break after another, making the programme not worth watching. To insult viewers’ intelligence, we are told that there is going to be a very short break and they will be back soon but in actual fact it is a very long break with commercial adverts.
